My blogging experience

My experience with the english blog is very good. I think  that this opportunity it is very useful for learn english, because allow us practice in differente forms, expressin our opinions and feelings in  our personal processes.

In this moment, I am very tired by the study and jobs for university, but the all forms I'm going ahead jaja. In the school, I was going wrong in english because this lenguage is a very difficult for me, but in this semester I learn new words and forms to express myself. This is a gratifying for me.

In the future, I want to continue learning english and practice so much. Also, I would like write about investigative journalism and develop new topics in this subject. I appreciate what I learned in this course and I like so much that the semester is going to end.

I enjoy study Enfoques Latinoamericanos

In this semester, I have different subjects but I like the Enfoques Latinoamericanos. In class, we talk about the differents visions that exists for study the history and communication in América Latina. Generally in the course, we criticize the north american focus that pretend know and understand the autentic process of communication in Latinoamerica, always use a "superior" vision. 

In this course, we reading text about the communication in América Latina, the media concentration, informative treatment in case of gender and books that express the necessity of build new medias with the people and that explains theirs problematics.

I like this subject because we can discussion about topics that affect directly to us, for example, the superpowers vision about the America Latina or the domination process in the continent. Also, I like Enfoques Latinoamericanos for the opportunity to reflect about the past and like this is relationated with our present, and, why not? our future.

Eduardo Galeano

I choose to talk about the journalist and writer, Eduardo Galeano. He was born in Uruguay, in 1940. The journalist is considerate as one of  the best writer to Latinoamerica. During his years of career, Galeano to write a lot books and texts about the latinoamerican identity, the indigenous peoples and spanish invation in the continent.

His publication are recognized in the different parts of the world. Books like "Las venas abiertas de America Latina", "Días y noches de amor y de guerra" and "El libro de los abrazos" are some his works.

I like this writer because with his words and expression related magnificently the stories about the indigenous people; the happiness and horror living for their. Also, I like for his critical vision about the conquest process in Latinoamerican continent, and because he takes politics position like
historian.

I like so much this sentence, because describe very good the process of human identity:

"After all, we are what we do to change what we are. Identity is not a museum piece, 'quietecita' in the showcase, but the always amazing synthesis of the contradictions of each day"

The feminist movement

The fight to feminist movement it comes for many years. In the history, different woman have raised the flags to the equality in all sense: labor situation, rights and respect for the woman. The internet massifies wrong views about the feminist, undermined a just fight and cause.

But, I think that in this post I must talk about the role to men in the feminist fight. In the last time, I became interested in the discussion about the masculinities and the most privileges we have like men. The relation between women and men it’s based in unequal and imposition to different roles in the society, that responding to domination structure that benefits to the capitalism.

It’s time for men to start assuming the role of deconstruction and questioning the values installed for society. We need to start to criticize the position that use in the system and leave the privileges inherited for long time. We must be comrades in the feminist fight, that our support transforming in real action to end with gender violence.

My favorite photography

This is one my favorites photography, and show the first manifestation against the AFP system made the 24 th july of last year. I like the photography because reveal the social  discomfort and fury to the chilean people with the neoliberal system, that promove a life very unequal.

The photography was taken by Barbara Berríos to comunnication colective, Brigada Informativa Desborde, in the Plaza Italia, Chile. In the occasion, the people full the Alameda street and they rose to the Baquedano sculture.

With a many posters, the people protested in the Santiago's center and demostrated with slogans their vision about the AFP. "Hasta cuando nos cagan"described very well the reality we live. This photography is special for me, because express the popular sovereignty and the interest for change and resolve the conflicts to society. I think that the people can trasnform the reality. Like said Victor Jara, "let's take the wide road".

Movies or series you like

Inglourious bastards is my favorite movie, because it have all the elements necessary for avange people affected for World War II. This movie related the story of Shoshanna, who lost his family in the hands of the nazis. Shoshanna is establish en France and start to work in the cinema, from that place she prepare the best revange against of nazis.

I like this movie because the characters are very well made and the script is very, very interesting and funny. My character favorite is the colonel Hans Landa, interpreted for the actor Christop Waltz, who captivates to audience for your  gestures dramatic and anxious movementes.

¡Definitely, the Inglourious bastards is the best Tarantino's movie!




I like watch the series and my favorite is House of Cards. I think that the HofC represent the good form to the establishment, the power networks and the influence in the traditional politics. If you dont watch the serie you will to regret the rest of your life.

My favourite pieces of technology

Hi! I like using technology. Generally, I use my smartphone because have much applications like Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. In my house I use the laptop to watch the movies and videos, and read the different texts for the university. Also, my laptop helps me when I have to edit images in photoshop.

I don't watch more tv for its contents, but sometimes I watch the movies or news. My relationship with the technology is good because always I like the new inventions. I used to play Playstation, but I gave it up.

In the new generation the technology is a problem because the little ones are growing with this appliances, encroaching their lifes. I think the technology is very good when it is used in favour of society.

Why did I choose this career?

I chose my career because I always liked the communication in the all forms. On a first moment I want investigate about the political problems and networks between the politics and the private business. It is a big dream, but it still remains. I think the journalism is a great profession, more than anything one office that we preserve and protect in the society because it is the tool that helps us to be informed about the all problems that exist in the country and the world.

I think in a journalism compromised with the social processes and the people’s interests. One journalism to be critical, confrontational, vivacious and in the permanent alert. Also, I think in the democratization of the information, but not the democratization of the communication medias because their interests are the interest of the private sector and businessmen. I want and think in media and press that listen to the communities and their necessities and problematics.  

Who is Tomás?

I am Tomás Octavio García Álvarez, I was born July 6th in 1995, in the city of Santiago de Chile. I have a twin, his name is Federico, and he born two minutes before me. My father is Ricardo, my mother is Alicia and my little sister is Luciana. Always I live in La Florida.

I studied primary school in the Maestra Elsa Santibañez, a public school. Later on a studied in the Raimapu and later continued my studies in the Antilhue, my last school.  In the Antilhue I know to my best friend, with who I keep a great friendship. In the actually, I study Journalism in the University of Chile and I like my career.

I like the politics activities, since I was a child interested for the politic situation and the social movements. Also, I like the swimming in the week and sometimes I do other sports, like a callisthenic. 

The last time i did something new

The last week I start use the new application in the internet for administrated the social networks. The application denominated Hooutsite and you can acces all the apps that we used in the day. The application is easy and it allows you up the images, publication, videos, and others. Hooutsite is useful for the community manager because it contains in just one site all the social networks and the others application. 

My expectation for the course

My expectation for the course are to learn more words in english for daily use, and also i want communicate with the people in this lenguage. The english is very difficult for me, i understand when other person speaks in english but talking is hard for me. I want that this course help me for understand better the lenguage for practice the rest of my life. I know that the learn english is a tool for the life in the globalized world.
